I upgraded to TrayStatus 4.0 and now the icon remains hidden so I went to the settings for the task bar and there are now two settings so I turned on the one for 4.0 and it had no effect so I rebooted and still nothing. I tried reinstalling TrayStatus 4.0 but that didn't fix the problem.
If you open the hidden area on the taskbar, is the TrayStatus icon there? If so, are you able to drag it with your mouse down to the main area on the taskbar?

The tray icon was in the hidden area and dragging it out to the taskbar fixed the problem. Thanks a million!
