You can disable this (and let TrayStatus startup) by editing the TrayStatus.ini file in the installation folder. Just set this line to 0:

When I try to start TrayStatus it crashes and debugging it in Visual Studio 2008 shows me the error "InvalidOperationException - Category does not exist."
I'd love to use this tool, any ideas what might be causing it?
